Yess!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!! After months of waiting and hoping that the internet rumors of him getting dropped from his label weren’t true, one of my favorite G.O.O.D Music artists, Cyhi The Prynce, finally released his “Ivy League” mixtape, and he does not disappoint. From the moment that you hear the clip from the 1989 classic movie “Lean on Me” in the intro, the mixtape got better with every song. Content wise, Cyhi is very consistent; strong lyrics and flow is his forte. He had an array of guest features on this tape, with the most notable being Yelawolf. Yelawolf’s verse on “Drank & Smoke” (track 11), was the stand out verse of all the guest appearances. The production on this mixtape was superb. I was especially impressed by the production done by a group called Elusive Orkestra. Elusive Orkestra did the production on “Tool” (track 10), “Feet Up” (track 15), and my personal favorite, “Entourage” (track 19). Shout out to Elusive Orkestra member Alejandro Fuego. This mixtape was well worth the wait. I’ve always told people that Cyhi The Prynce was the most slept on member of the G.O.O.D Music team. He tends to get overshadowed by the more commercial artists like Big Sean, and recently added 2 Chainz. Hopefully this mixtape solidifies him as a pillar of the G.O.O.D Music franchise as I believe he is. – J_GranT
